Conservation District Technician Job Opening

The Clinton County Soil & Water Conservation District

has an opening for a Conservation District Technician.

This full time position involves independently administering the Agricultural Environmental Management Program, along with planning, designing, and overseeing construction of soil and water conservation projects.

Person should have a good knowledge of soil and water practices as they affect water quality and agricultural operations.  Experience with nutrient management and developing AEM and/or Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMP) is a plus.

Good communication skills, planning skills, agricultural, agronomic and/or technical background required.

Minimum Qualifications: A) Bachelor’s degree in environmental technology, mechanical or civil engineering technology, natural resource conservation, agriculture, or related field; or B) Associate’s degree and 1 years of related experience; or C) equivalent combination of training and experience.

NYS Driver’s License required at the time of application.

This position is provisional, pending the successful completion of a civil service exam.

Residency in Clinton County is required.

Salary commensurate with experience.
